On June 6th 2014, Bernie Jordan slipped out of his care home in Hove and crossed the Channel to join the 70th anniversary commemorations of the D-Day landings.
This sweet film manages to avoid being either jingoistic or mawkish. It has a quiet dignity and is, of course, a chance to see two cinema greats – Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson – in their final roles.
